Ways We Learn to Cope.

One-Day Workshop

Many of the ways we cope begin as ways of surviving.

Perhaps you’ve learnt to stay busy, keep everyone happy, overthink every decision, strive for perfection, withdraw from others, or turn to food for comfort. At one time, these strategies may have helped you manage difficult experiences or overwhelming emotions.

This workshop isn’t about taking those coping strategies away. It’s about understanding them with compassion, recognising why they developed, and gently exploring whether they still serve the life you want to live today.

What we’ll explore

  • Why we develop coping strategies

  • The difference between surviving and living

  • Understanding your own patterns with compassion

  • Meeting the needs beneath the coping

  • Building healthier ways of responfing to difficult emotions

Is this workshop for me?

This workshop may be a good fit if you:

  • Often wonder, “Why do I keep doing this?”

  • Feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand

  • Find yourself relying on coping strategies that no longer feel helpful

  • Are curious about the relationship between your past experiences and your present day behaviours

  • Want to respond to yourself with more understanding and less judgement
